Josphat Ngonyo – Director of ANAW updated us about the trial:

“We are now awaiting the scheduling conference that will be held on January 23, 2012 at the East African Court of Justice premises in Arusha, Tanzania. During the conference, lawyers for both parties are expected to attend so that the Court can lay ground rules on how the case will proceed. The lawyers will also table information on any document they wish to table during the proceedings as well as any witnesses they will be calling. Dates for the hearing will also be set which, according to regulations, should be within 60 days after the date of the Conference. This means that hearing must have commenced by April 2013.”
